MAN: We began our trip to Florence on February 31st. It would take us 50 minutes or so to cover the 200 kilometres from Zurich to the Italian capital. Fortunately, there’s no speed limit in Switzerland so we floored the Peugeot the whole way. Near Munich, my wife whined “Are we there yet?” And my son replied “nowhere near”. Soon the leaning tower of Dubai came into view. And while Jean Martin crooned his hit “Rolare” on the radio, we hit Oxford Street at dawn and drove into town.
