BriefExplanation
'An Inspirational True Story' advertised the fact that the movie 'The World's Fastest Indian' was to be aired on TVONE. The movie itself was dear to New Zealanders' hearts as it told the well-known true story of a New Zealand icon. The speed of the narrative and the use of an Indian narrator were a simple pun on the movie title. The speedy narration also allowed a thorough synopsis of the movie to be humorously and effectively slotted into the 30 second ad.Based on the life of a New Zealander, The World¹s Fastest Indian was filmed in New Zealand and starred Acadamy Award winner, Sir Anthony Hopkins. The movie is one of the highest grossing New Zealand films of all time. It won numerous local and international screen awards, including best actor, best picture and best director.

MVO: This is a magnificent and inspirational true story about a New Zealander, Burt Munro, who spends years and years and years and years tinkering and testing this really, really old motorcycle. He does things like slice the tread off the tyres to reduce the friction, which make the bike go faster, which is nice. He does not ever have any correct parts, but makes them himself. Finally he gets his chance to go and speed his motorcycle in the fastest place in the world, which is the salt flats in Utah in the United States. He reckons he and his bike can break the landspeed world record. Bam! Break it! And he scrounges around for enough money to travel all that way. I will not give away the ending, but let us just say that they would not have made a movie about him if he did not win. So he basically wins.
ANN: The World's Fastest Indian, 9.10 tonight. TVONE.
