OVERVIEW

BriefExplanation

In a short documentary a Chinese blogger talks about the difficulties of working in a country were no data is safe. Everything you write and post can be turned against you and there is always a feeling of insecurity. At the end she states: “It’s weird, but sometimes it feels like living in China.” And we see that she is working in Germany.

EntrySummary

In Europe and Germany, China is seen as an unfree country, where freedom of speech is restricted and human rights are non-existent. It would never appeal to Germans to compare their country to China. The harsh twist at the end of the video is meant to make people stop and think – are we really living in a free country, when no one really knows what happens to the data they constantly produce?
