OVERVIEW

Write a short summary of what happens in the film

“Fursat” is Bollywood-scale short film featuring original music, stunning locations, grand sets, and impeccable choreography, shot entirely on iPhone 14 Pro.

The story follows a young archaeologist, Nishant, who sees visions of the future through an ancient relic called the ‘Doordarshak’. Captivated by these predictions, Nishant loses his grip on the present. He ends up being late to his own engagement. Disappointed, his fiancée-to-be, Diya calls off their engagement, and a heartbroken Nishant gets even more obsessed with the future.

One moonlit night, he sees a dire vision — a burning train, a sword-wielding gangster, and an imminent threat to Diya's life. Nishant races against time to alter this prediction, but instead makes matters worse. Nishant, however wins back Diya’s love and realises a life-altering truth. He throws the Doordarshak into a raging bonfire and sings, "The past is gone. The future doesn't matter. Today is all we have.”

Background:

India is home to one of the biggest film industries in the world. To showcase iPhone 14 Pro’s camera capabilities and establish it as a movie-grade filmmaking tool, Apple worked with veteran director Vishal Bhardwaj to create a Bollywood-scale short film, shot entirely on iPhone 14 Pro.

Stunning locations, grand sets, and impeccable choreography come together in this fast-paced fantasy-musical set to 5 original songs. A true testament that iPhone can help bring even the most ambitious of creative visions to life.

Describe the Impact:

“Fursat” was released on Disney+ Hotstar (India’s leading VOD platform), and on the Apple India and Apple US YouTube channels. It quickly garnered a total of 154M+ views, and organically trended as one of the top 10 new releases on Disney+ Hotstar. “Fursat” also added 400,000 new subscribers to the YouTube India channel within weeks of its release.

Media coverage for the film spanned across 32 countries, and the film was shared widely across social media platforms, notably by top talent in the industry. There has been an overwhelming response to the fact that a film of this scale can be captured on iPhone, and the shock and awe is consistent across the many reviews, comments and stream of reaction videos that surfaced after the launch.
