BriefExplanation
In 2015, men still dominate executive positions within the EU.
ABZ AUSTRIA is a non-profit women’s organisation that fights for female equality within the Austrian jobs market.
To show how society is still stuck in outmoded gender roles, we set up a radio experiment.
BriefWithProjectedOutcomes
In Austria, the situation is even worse. With only 11,8 percent of women in leadership positions, the country ranks well below the EU average.
To change this, political measures and quota regulations are needed. However, above all, it needs a rethinking process within our minds.
Effectiveness
Access to the website tripled and started a heated dabate about the outdated gender roles within Austria´s executive positions.
More importantly, the radio experiment showed us clearly where gender equality starts; within our minds.
EntrySummary
Within European companies, women are very much the minority in leadership positions.
In 2015, only 18,6 percent of women are placed within higher management levels.
Strategy
This simple experiment held a mirror up to the listener, making him or her face their conscious or subconscious predjudices.
