Description

While the most powerful leagues in the world, like the Champions League, are built with large amounts of money, the glory of Uruguayan football, is explained only by passion and the overcome of any obstacle. This is a league with a lot of history but with very low incomes. Many of the games are played in fields that are in deplorable conditions and in this context is very common to see fantastic and improbable situations.

However, as crazy as it is, uruguayans love and defend their football. In the eyes of Uruguayans, this is the best league in the world.

Our idea was to use humor and parody the Champios League, watching unveliebables images of Uruguayan soccer while a bombastic band sounds and resources as slow cameras are used, etc.

Execution

We created a video depicting the precarious facilities and stadiums where our football unfolds, but we did it with a code of grandstanding, as if we were showing the best stadiums in the world.

We also include real images of incredible situations that have happened in other seasons, as when a cow entered the field to celebrate a championship or when mattresses were used to dry the field. All this accompanied by great music that parodies the anthem of the Champions.

The video was broadcast via whatsapp and was scheduled so to air on TV. However, the viralización was so rapid that the Uruguayan Football Association saw the video before it came out on TV. They did not like it and asked TCC to take it off.

That only transformed the video into big news.

Outcome

Viralization via whatsapp was instant and within minutes it was posted in all social networks.

In addition, the fact that the AUF requested that commercial didn't aire, only caused people to defend the video and TCC with a passion comparable only with that that they feel for our football.

The video reached the national media and discussed in all kinds of TV and radio programs. But it transpired beyond Uruguay. The news and the video reached the main sports news portals in the region and the world.

Finally, with $ 0 investment in media, it reached 4 continents in 9 languages. The video and the official TCC twitter account were trending topic for days.

There was not a single Uruguayan who did not know that the Uruguayan football is broadcasted by TCC.
