A young girl eats a cup of Chobani yogurt. Mid-meal, she plants a seed. With each bite of yogurt, the tree grows bearing different fruits. The tree feeds all those who visit it.

We used a mix of animation styles, including traditional 2D, 3D, and puppetted animation. The approach was chosen and assigned to each specific asset, based on how well it would take to 3D, or if 2D would provide a look more accurate to the design.

The film’s little girl was the major element approached in a 2D-style to preserve the watercolor illustrators’ style. We used a 3D approach to create the fruit-picking scene and give it a sense of dimension as the camera passes through the branches.

Compositing a variety of animated textures and effects to tie it all together, we treated and mixed all of the styles into a cohesive watercolor look for the final piece.
