Description
We created Comparte tu energía, the first platform that allowed blind runners to reach blind guides in order to shedule going out for a run. A web that was 100% built in colaboration with ONCE (Organización Nacional de Ciegos Españoles), where finally, blind people that wanted to go for a run could find somebody willing and happy to help them. We started with a simple dynamic: The web took in consideration personal brand, training zone and availability in order to propose related running partners to go out for a run. It worked just like a social network where people were able to communicate using private messages, select their favorites runners or keep an updated search.
Execution
The platform was presented on may 23rd of 2017 before the media and through and equally accesible digital video that could only be “seen” with closed eyes. The Olympic champion Martin Fiz joined the iniative as a guide in several races and as speaker on social media and communications. We gave out bib numbers to every couple that wanted to participate in our races. We decided that this was the appropiate gift taking into consideration that blind runners have to pay the inscription twice every time they sign up to a race. This is an idea that was born in Spain and adapted to every country due to popular request.
Outcome
The campaign had a lot of repercussion as it is a Brand dedicated to the energy sector solving a big problema that nobody has ever paid attention to. It had more than 320 appearances in the main media of the country. In specialized media; 48 million impressions and 2,000 registrations in just 5 months.
This platform opened a world of possibilities to all blind or visually impaired people who did not consider practicing this sport even if they wanted to, as well as all those people with vision who train regularly and wanted to help. EDP ??managed to position itself as the energy company involved in the world of running ready to help all runners.
