Background
Fisher & Paykel is New Zealand’s largest and longest-established design-led company. It is one of a handful of New Zealand companies developing consumer durables – at scale – for the global market.
EuroCucina is one of the world’s most important kitchen design exhibitions. Held annually in Milan, it is attended by influential companies looking to showcase product ranges and innovations to a discerning audience. For Fisher & Paykel, EuroCucina was an opportunity to clearly articulate and differentiate itself from its competitors.
Idea
EuroCucina Magazine was developed to present Fisher & Paykel’s history and focus on refined, timeless design within a bigger provenance story that encompasses the notion of “Designed in New Zealand”. The content commissioned emphasises the strong links between Fisher & Paykel’s heritage and the wider qualities of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Execution
The stories and large format photography take readers on a journey through the landscapes that set Aotearoa apart as a country, into our best residential architecture, where Fisher & Paykel’s innovations are discreetly revealed, through to the philosophies are driving innovation – including the changing nature of the kitchen and design freedom through appliance distribution – and insights about how people live now and into the future.
Outcome
Through ‘editorial’ generosity, this publication, a physical manifestation of F&P’s place in the world and approach to customer-centered design for a global marketplace, was a calling card worth keeping for its intended international audience.
