The first in a series of adverts for ITV's ‘Great characters make great drama’ campaign, in this film Roger Allam invites us in and exposes himself in an unprecedented way. Bringing his character from the well known series ‘Endeavour’ into a cinematic, somewhat mythical world, as the dramatic scene unfolds ’The Patriarch' speaks directly to camera, whilst ultimately heading to his possible fate. He explains to us who he is and why we identify with him. It's a deconstruction that gets to the heart of our innate appetite for character-driven stories.
