Background

In the U.S., the internet has developed a special affinity for the silly holidays that happen nearly every day. From National Peanut Butter Day to National Talk Like A Pirate Day, there's a holiday for everything.

Hotwire needed a good reason to get people to book small holidays more often, so these were the perfect way to reach people more often.

The Hotwire jingle was made very popular in the early 2000's but the brand stopped using it even though it was arguably one of their most popular assets. People could recite it even when it wasn't used. This was part of the first campaign to bring it back to culture in about 10 years.

Execution

In this 5-second film, we see a kitchen with the Hotwire logo built right in the center. We hear the classic Hotwire jingle begin as the logo jiggles in unison. Just as the jingle is about to reach its climax, a plate holding a sandwich that has a face made out of cheese pops out of the logo and gruffly sings along before going back inside the logo.

It ends with a title that reads: Happy Sandwich Day! Love, Hotwire.com
