OVERVIEW

Description

Task: Throughout its three branches (T-Home, T-Mobile, T-Systems), Telekom positions itself as the provider that brings people together. The slogan “Life is for sharing” should be introduced with the help of the film.Solution: With Telekom services, people can now use the Internet and watch videos and TV on their mobile or on their laptops. The firm is what makes the link between people.

Life offers us memorable moments - that we can share with others.

Execution

We quote a true experience in a TV commercial. In 2007, Paul Potts, previously an unknown British mobile phone salesman, realised the fulfilment of his great dream. During the talent show "Britain's Got Talent", this unprepossessing man gave a brilliant performance in front of the initially sceptical audience, moving all of the listeners with his singing of an opera aria. Paul won the competition. And the unforgettable moment of his appearance rapidly spread over the entire globe and was seen by millions.

Outcome

The response to the TV commercial was overwhelming. Telekom received countless enthusiastic communications – even a query from a pastor who wanted to include the commercial in his sermon.

The spot was viewed more than 500,000 times on YouTube and almost 1 million times on the Telekom website during the first four weeks after the campaign start alone.

And the aria as sung by Paul Potts recorded the most successful re-entry in the German music charts – just from Internet downloads!
