EntrySummary
Koenig & Bauer, the world’s oldest printing machine manufacturer, celebrated their 200th anniversary in 2017. It was planned that some aspect of the anniversary design was to become a lasting component of the subsequent rebrand. The challenge: tell and package Koenig & Bauer’s rich and meaningful history, but nevertheless focus on the future.
Three publications were developed under the title: “People, Machines, Ideas”. The inspiration came from the people of Koenig & Bauer. Their fascination was the core of the concept. The anniversary box consisted of two books and 13 posters. The book titled “People” highlights the personalities who orchestrated turning points throughout the history. The poster set “Machines” exhibited the fascination of print. And the reader “Ideas” illuminated the significance and scope of the print industry. The design of the publications fittingly carried over to the newly developed, classy corporate design. 10,000 copies were produced in German and English.
