Pachucho is an interactive tool created to improve emotional health records and to be used in hospital environments so fully integrates the consequent limitations into the very beginning design process.

The intention of this technology is to transfers a real physical sensation reproducing human behavior and the power of hugs.

INSIGHTS

We all know how long term hospitalization affects childhood cancer patients. However there is a huge impact also on their siblings left behind that still represents a pending issue.

Psycho-oncologists refer the post-treatment emotional scars of siblings are almost worst than those of the children that suffer the cancer. Their traumas range from stress, anxiety, depression, guilt, diminished social support, broken family, bonds exclusion, burden, etc...

INTENTION/PURPOSE

Hugs transform lives and represent human love better than anything. Imagine a loving hug from the sibling left at home to the sibling struggling with cancer. Pachucho is an interactive attachment doll wirelessly connected to it's twin doll. When hugged, Pachucho sends hugs to it's twin: it transfers a real physical sensation in real time.

Pachucho is an interactive attachment doll wirelessly connected to it's twin doll. When hugged, Pachucho sends hugs to it's twin transferring a real physical sensation in real time.

- LED RGB: Pachucho’s belly illuminates warning the reception of the hug. And the kid feels it as well thanks to a subtle vibration: VIBRATOR 11000rpm-5V

- INFLATABLE DEVICE: Pachucho seems “real” as it breathes transmitting calm and relaxation.

- It has a “pear shape” that makes it huggable. Its skin is made of anti-bacterial materials. And you can extract the technological componentes easily for washing.

- WIRELESS BATTERY 10W (2000mA/5V): Pachucho does not carry cables or plugs and it recharges wirelessly.

- GYROSCOPE: Pachucho has a sensor of movement integrated that detects the interaction with the child.

- It enters in “night mode” when the child sleeps.

The aim of Pachucho is to introduce it at hospitals as part of the holistic treatment approach for patients suffering cancer and other long-term hospitalization conditions.

As a supporting tool Pachucho will help psycho-oncologists in their daily complex routine managing the psychological mood of the kids at hospital as well as the healthy siblings at home.
