OVERVIEW

ClientBriefOrObjective

Shibuya Station, one of the main train stations in Japan. Shibuya Station became the starting point. This big project consisted of several train lines that were to be connected with Shibuya Station on March 16th, 2013. The mission given to us was to get a lot of people interested in this big project.

Implementation

To get a lot of people interest, we held an event in which people submitted their designs, that were to be painted on actual rail cars to make up one entire train. This train was to run on this newly connected line. Participants from all ages took part, from children to adults. The painted rail cars were to be connected to make up one train that was to actually run on this line. The process was easy. Choose a color, choose a pattern, then, choose a stamp you like and place it on the train.

Outcome

16 designs were chosen from all that were submitted. As many people looked on, finally on March 16th, those train lines were connected. Approximately 5,000 applicants submitted designs. Approximately 400,000 accessed the event website.

Relevancy

"A special event was held in Tokyo to celebrate the joining of several train lines that came together"

We held an event in which all ages had a chance to design their own train cars. These designs were selected from many participants and painted on actual train cars that ran on the newly connected train line.

This experience was definitely a once in a life time opportunity for those participants whose designs were accepted!

This event was planned and promoted in order to get a large audience interested in this memorable occasion.
