Why is this work relevant for Brand Experience & Activation?

Facing the public's prejudice against depression, patients ignore negative emotions deliberately. "Voice From the Heart" is an experiential journey that guides the public to listen to the inner voices of people with depression!

First, through interactive films, the hidden inner voices of depressed teenagers are revealed. Then, combining AI music technology, we convert the data that people fill in depression scale into "personal unique inner melody", which encourages patients to share this experience.

Through campaign websites, social media, live events, etc., more data is gathered, and AI creates the first song that hears the heart voices of people with depression!

Background

In Taiwan, one in every seven teenagers suffers from depression.

However, due to social discrimination and prejudice against depression and other mental illnesses, they are used to labeling people with depression, thinking that they just have poor resistance to pressure and think too much, which makes them feel difficult to attend school and work.

This also causes potential patients with depression to choose to ignore and suppress their negative emotions, and do not admit their depression tendencies. Ultimately, 3/4 of them do not seek medical attention earlier and end up committing suicide.

Therefore, we hope to raise public awareness of this issue and pay attention to the situation of teenagers around us. At the same time, we also hope to change the perception of teenagers towards their negative emotions, so that they are willing to face their inner voices and seek help from others.

Describe the creative idea

"Voice From the Heart" is an experiential journey that guides the public to listen to the inner voices of people with depression step by step!

Through interactive films, leading the public into the inner world of depressed teenagers, listen to their hidden depressed heart voices, and arouse public attention and resonance.

Then, combined with AI music technology and data, the personal "heart voices" melody is generated in real time. The public's answer options in "depression scale" are converted into "personal unique inner melody", so that people with depression are willing to share their "inner voices" via music and face up to their own psychological state.

Finally, by gathering more data of test result, AI created the world’s first song that heard the voices of all the depressed teenagers and turned everyone's heart melody into a part of the song, so that the depressed teenagers feel accepted, listened to, and valued!

Describe the strategy

Being discriminated against and oppressed by the public, people with depression do not admit, and do not know how to "share their inner depression feelings". In this case, "sharing music" is always a natural thing to do!

Strategy 1: Use "music" to wrap up "depressed voices".

Using AI music technology and data, the content of the "depression scale" filled out by the public is converted into "personal unique inner melody"! Through "music", more people are willing to share and join the event.

Strategy 2: Release "a song that gathering "the heart voices of 20,000 depressed teenagers" and encourage more people to share.

Via big data, AI generates a song representing the inner voices of all those who participated in filling out the scale. In this way, let all the depressed patients feel that they are not alone, and more willing to share their depression symptoms to the outside world.

Describe the execution

From online to offline, from individuals to crowds. Let every small voice condense into the loudest impact!

In November-December 2022, interactive films and websites will be exposed in online communities and offline events. The public will be invited to fill out the depression scales, and publicize activities in academic seminars on depression, inviting the government to work together to improve the situation of depressed teenagers.

In January-March 2023, the target audience are urged online to fill out the depression scale drawn up by doctors. Each scale answer will be used as data to generate "a unique heart melody" through AI.

As data accumulates, AI generate a song that gathering "the heart voices of 20,000 depressed teenagers". In April to July, the campaign will enter campuses and reach more junior, senior high school, and university students to listen to the "Song of Voice from the Heart" together!

List the results

-20,000 teenagers joined the online campaign to fill out "the depression scale", starting to listen to their own inner voice and taking the first step in facing their depression symptoms!

-Using AI music technology, the world's first song that combines the "heart voices" of 20,000 depressed teenagers was launched! Each person's "heart voice" melody from the scale was incorporated into the song, letting them know that they are not alone and that they are accepted, listened to, and valued.

-600% organic reach increased in social media (compared to the previous average), and 50,000 people were reached by campus publicity campaigns (estimated until July 2023). More and more people are starting to pay attention to depression and practice listening to each other's "heart voices". It also created positive exposure for the brand.

Please tell us about the cultural insight that inspired the work

Through the "music" culture of young people, wrap up the "melancholy voice" that is often difficult to express.

Facing the public’s discrimination and prejudice against depression, people with depression tendency often hide their negative emotions. However, music sharing is common in youth culture, so we use it as a medium to lower the threshold for sharing people’s negative emotions .

Using AI technology, we translate “the public’s melancholic heart voices” into “a unique inner melody”. By gathering data, the first song of everyone's melancholic heart voices was created. Through music, we encourage people to share and listen to the "voice of the melancholy heart". At the same time, people who have depression tendency can ask for help and take the first step in facing the disease!
