Effectiveness
The campaign helped inspire more than three thousand people to submit business ideas to our website. And over a million and a half people downloaded Microsoft's Accounting Software, four times our client’s goal.
Implementation
We began with a premise: that great business ideas are out there - everywhere. We airdropped 2,000 copies of our software over the most average of American towns, then watched (with a half million others) as one inspired citizen emerged, chasing his fashion-forward dream in an episodic online “documentary.” Our hero created an online commercial, unveiled his own e-commerce website, and was the subject of a glossy magazine fashion spread. More than one ad agency actually solicited his business.
Relevancy
Accounting software is boring. But, by airdropping our product under cover of darkness, then creating viral videos of the event and seeding them on the web, we captured the attention of all of America. The unlikely business success story that followed demonstrated the power of a great idea, and the power of our software to bring that idea to life. As part of our broader campaign to find the single best new business idea in America, the campaign brought emotion, humor, and engagement to a hopelessly dull subject.
