No one likes to be overtaken while driving, but when this car is a jaw dropping new R8 with a brand new rear, it becomes suddenly a pleasure, and a pleasure to follow.
Starring the "followers" rather than the car itself to build suspense and keep everyone's attention, the R8 will disrupt entire cities, pushing tourists to change their plans, Ice Cream vans to let kids down, waste truck drivers to forget their duty, brides to crash their own wedding or Policemen forgetting the law to be at the front line of the chase.
The new Audi R8 revealing itself majestically at the end, like the Pied Piper of cars.
Cultural/Context information for the jury
This film opens a new creative breach for Audi AG advertising. Rather than the expected demo product film, we worked to create a film based on a universal product truth: the part of the Audi R8 people see the most is the rear. Combining this with a conumer insight, that nobody likes being overtaken on the road, we brought this piece of storytelling to life, elevating the previous AG product launch presentations.
