Bankinter had plans to continue growing their customer base and recover the Spanish financial category reputation after the 2008 financial crisis, with a new positioning, “The bank that sees money just like you do”. This song was produced on March 2020 right before the pandemic hit. Hence, this clever storytelling would not be enough. We should contribute with actions, a series of unprecedented measures to help customers and employees affected by the pandemic.
As a result, Bankinter created a package of measures that responded to their clients’ needs in record time: keeping this film's commercial message would have been out of place, so we replaced this song by a new one: 'Banknotes 2', which reflected these new actions using the same musical resource, but adapting the song lyric's to this new situation.

The song conveys a story about money. From the very beginning, it introduces the main topic of the campaign: 'at first sight, money is just money and nothing else, that's why people rarely mention it, but if you look closer, you'll see there's much more'.
The song lyric's describe with metaphors how, sometimes, money makes things difficult in spite of all our efforts: money destroys families but also pays for weddings. Money means freedom but it can also be a free man's jail.
The singer narrates that for everyone, money comes as easy as it goes, but at the same time proves that money is not just money. Money is sweat and toil and all this effort must be rewarded no matter who you are.
