Write a short summary of what happens in the film

These two spots comprise an energetic campaign for KFC’s eye-popping promotional deals. In each of the two films, our protagonists are blown away by the great offers, screaming “What the Cluck!??!” as their features explode into cel-animated chicken counterparts of our live action talent. The design and character animation is inspired by the cast, matching each actor to his/her extreme chicken doppelganger as they leap into action. These instances of cel animation were designed and animated separately, then tracked into the live action in the composite. We took enormous care over this process, even going so far as to change the shadows cast by our characters’ heads to chicken-shaped shadows cast on the ground as soon as the animation overlay comes in. Little touches like this allow the 2D illustrations to really connect to the live action world around them.

Cultural / Context information for the jury

Erring on the side of caution, we’ll explain “What the Cluck!??!” here: it’s a pun based on the common English exclamative “What the F**k?” which is used to express bewilderment. “Cluck” is the sound that a chicken makes in English.
