OVERVIEW

BriefExplanation

The Komori press is from Japan, and thanks to a brand new technology the ink dries so fast that you can print on materials that were never possible before.

ClientBriefOrObjective

How can you make something dull and technical like a new printing press into something interesting?

Implementation

To honour both Japan and the new technology we created an exhibition, a catalogue and a series of posters showing Japanese images by some of the world’s leading photographers. Each image is signed by the printing press – the exact time and date when it opened and closed (making every edition unique) – and is printed on different types of materials.

Outcome

It was well received by the public. A good way to introduce the printer.
