The party was planned to take place by the seaside, but in Estonia during the summer there are lots of mosquitos flying around. So we decided to send a party invitation in a form of a mosquito repellent. We dug out repellent recipe, mixed together some essential oils and designed a beautiful package.

Execution

It took us three months to make the Mosquito unisex. First of all we searched the right perfume bottles and then designed the bottles together with packages. Then we found a recipe and got the ingredients (essential oils, ethanol, water) and mixed together the eco friendly repellent. The hardest part was to find a company who would put the repellent into perfume bottles, because in Estonia nobody provides this kind of service so we had to send dozens of canisters full of mosquito repellent to Latvia. On April 12th we sent out invitations - 300 bottles of Mosquito unisex.

Outcome

We sent invitations to 300 people and more than 240 came to the event. Many clients, partners and friends have said some very good words about Mosquito unisex and they wish that Mosquito unisex would be soon available in retail stores, because it is natural and smells nice, but most importantly - it looks good and mosquitos hate it.

Relevancy

Instead of sending a simple invitation we created and designed a totally new product.

Strategy

Pakendikeskus specialises in selling Estonia's largest variety of packaging products and machines. They had a birthday party coming up and wanted to invite clients to the event, but they didn't want to send a simple paper invitation, but instead create something useful and special to express the essence of their brand. So we decided to send an invitation in a form of a mosquito repellent, but usually the ordinary repellents have an unattractive package and they smell quite bad. Fortunately we managed to create the absolute opposite - an eco-friendly citrus scent repellent that looks like an expensive perfume. We also wanted to show that a simple product can be much more if it has a beautiful package. So now the guests got their invitations and had something useful to take along to the party.

Synopsis

Pakendikeskus (packaging centre) wanted to invite clients and partners to their 20th birthday celebrations, but instead of a simple invitation they wanted to send something special.
