Harry wanted to be a merman and be eaten in a restaurant. So we took this and wanted to make this the most fun and visceral experience possible.
Describe the creative idea
The concept was to take the audience on a musical adventure, with the track being the ultimate narrator for the visuals. There is a dark narrative lurking just below the surface of this creative and the elaborate and joyful music. All of this was built into a small but rich world of the underground restaurant business.
Describe the craft & execution
The video was executed over 2 main days at the location. One with the artist and one without due to availability. Shot predominantly handheld on 35mm Film, this helped create the rich world you see on screen. The addition of photography was a way to capture even more footage and help build the elaborate and frenetic edit. The pace of the edit and the concise story telling of the shots pushed the video along at an incredibly engaging pace.
Describe the results
The video was received incredibly well and elements from the video were used in and through further live shows. With Sushi bars popping up at gigs alongside random appearances of Shrimp headed dancers.
