BriefExplanation

In the ten-year gap between the two movies, a savage virus dubbed Simian Flu had swept the globe - almost completely destroying the human race.

When a viral pandemic with no known cure swept the globe, only humans immune to ‘Simian Flu’ survived. Those who remained, witnessed the destruction of society as we know it. 'The Gun' traces the journey of one single shotgun as it passes from owner to owner, in a world torn apart by the virus, causing the audience to experience the challenges and dilemmas of the new post-apocalyptic landscape.

EntrySummary

The Story of 'The Gun' is an epic piece of branded content made to promote the 2014 release Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

20th Century Fox asked us to create a film that bridged the gap between 2014’s ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ and its blockbuster prequel ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ - with a ground-breaking short film.

Using a new cast of characters - and absolutely no apes - the film had to immerse the audience in the post-virus world and bring them up to date.

Pulse Directors thirtytwo proposed The Story of The Gun - a cinematic short film with the look and feel of a full-length feature, fully immersing the audience in the new post-virus world and bringing them up to date story-wise in time for the release of the new film.
