Why is this work relevant for Music Entertainment?
Our Director created a frenetic fever dream for The Hives' comeback - their first release in 11 years. When a dog-walker uncovers an old tape cassette with the title handwritten in blood, it sets off a series of events that are explosive, surreal and very, very gory... Wearing its horror influences on its sleeve, the director goes full-throttle with the madness, paying homage to The Evil Dead, zombie flicks and the Swedish horror scene in a riotous four minutes.

Background
For The Hives first release in 11 years, Aube directed this bloody, frenetic fever dream video.
Aube: “I’ve been a massive fan of The Hives since I was a kid. I bought my first skate VHS, and the opening skate sequence was happening - a huge drop of a building - to Hate To Say I Told You So. It was so surprising, as they haven't really done any music for ten years, and they've done plenty of music videos that are a lot about the performance - that's what they do really well and built their legend.”
Describe the strategy & insight
Aube sought to create a four minute horror movie for The Hives’ comeback track filled with the staples of the genre. Ahomage to Sam Raimy's The Evil Dead.
Aube: “I also liked the idea that as they've not been releasing music for ten years, they were kind of dead. So it was definitely pretty obvious that it was them coming back from the dead.”
